Job summary

Skechers in Southern California is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead global sourcing across materials, services, and indirect spend. You will develop strategies, drive cost savings, and ensure quality while guiding a team of buyers, specialists, and analysts in a fast‑moving, value‑driven supply chain.

You will collaborate with finance, legal, operations and business units to optimize processes, implement procurement technology and analytics, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related; advanced degree preferred.
• 7–10+ years in procurement and supply chain with strategic sourcing and cost reduction.
• 3–5 years of leadership experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong analytical and financial analysis skills with budget management.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management with procurement compliance.
• Proficiency with procurement systems, platforms and data analytics tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
• Certifications (CPSM/CPPO/APICS/PMP) and supplier diversity experience preferred.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Director of Procurement is a key leadership role responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive procurement strategies that drive cost savings, ensure quality, and support Skechers' organizational objectives. This position will oversee procurement operations across multiple categories including materials, services, and indirect spend while leading a team of procurement professionals. The role involves strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize our global supply chain performance. You will be instrumental in driving process improvements, implementing technology solutions, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and regulations while supporting Skechers' continued growth and innovation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans and sourcing strategies aligned with Skechers business objectives and growth initiatives.
• Lead and manage procurement team members including buyers, specialists, and analysts while providing coaching and professional development opportunities.
• Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, and vendor management across assigned procurement categories.
• Drive cost optimization programs and procurement savings targets while maintaining quality standards and supplier performance.
• Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and compliance standards ensuring adherence to company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, operations, and business units to support procurement initiatives and provide category expertise.
• Implement procurement technology solutions, data analytics, and KPIs to measure performance and drive continuous process improvements.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7-10+ years of progressive procurement and supply chain experience with demonstrated success in strategic sourcing and cost reduction programs.
• 3-5 years of leadership or management experience with proven ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in financial analysis and budget management.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management skills with knowledge of procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with procurement systems, technology platforms, and data analytics tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
• Professional certifications (CPSM, CPPO, APICS, PMP) and experience with supplier diversity programs preferred.

The pay range for this position is $165,000-$195,000/yr USD.
