Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Vision is recruiting for a Director JJV Contact Lens Process Engineering, located in either Jacksonville, Florida or Limerick, Ireland. This leader will define the long-term engineering vision, operating model, governance, and technical roadmap to strengthen process capability and enable technology transfers across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (required); advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of Process/Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, or Quality experience.
• Minimum 8 years of people leadership experience (coaching, performance mgmt, talent development).
• Ability to set strategy and lead cross-site/global teams in a matrixed environment.
• Experience standardizing engineering practices and harmonizing skills/tools/governance across sites.
• Strong GMP/regulatory knowledge and disciplined engineering practices (validation, FMEA, risk mgmt).
• Proven ability to solve complex problems, drive continuous improvement, and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, decision-making, and program leadership skills.
• Medical device/pharma experience preferred; Six Sigma FPX or PMP certification is a plus.
• Must be willing to travel up to 25% (domestic/international).

Responsibilities

• Set and lead global process engineering strategy and roadmap for Jacksonville and Limerick.
• Harmonize skills, practices, tools, and governance across the global team.
• Build and mentor a high-performing global engineering organization.
• Partner with R&D, Operations, Quality, MAKE Engineering, and stakeholders for readiness and tech transfer.
• Lead structured problem solving, process characterization, validation, FMEA, and data analytics.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization across processes and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with GMP and timely deviation handling.
