Abbott’s Structural Heart business is dedicated to restoring health and improving quality of life through innovative device solutions. This role is based in Plymouth, MN and supports Global Operations, R&D, and Quality, reporting to senior leaders with one direct report.

We seek a strategic Director of Business Human Resources to lead HR strategies, partner with leaders to drive people, culture and performance, and drive division-wide HR initiatives with strong collaboration across HR partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
Advanced degree in Human Resources is preferred.
Experience in a matrix and global environment is essential.

The Opportunity

Join Abbott’s Structural Heart business, where our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease. We aim to lead the markets we serve by requiring the solutions we offer customers provide an improved benefit/risk profile as compared to existing standards of care; a performance threshold that by definition, guides and ensures the productive output of our engineering, business development, and clinical research efforts result in outcomes that advance the standard of care.

This role is based in our Plymouth, MN office and supports our Structural Heart business unit within Abbott’s Medical Devices sector.

Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of Business Human Resources to lead and execute HR strategies for Global Operations, R&D, and Quality functions. This role will serve as a key partner to senior business leaders and will have one direct report.

What You’ll Work On

Strategic HR Planning : Develop and implement HR plans aligned with business needs.
Leadership Partnership : Collaborate with senior leaders to design and execute people, culture, and workplace initiatives.
Talent and Inclusion : Develop and implement a talent and inclusion plan to ensure the right talent and environment for achieving financial goals.
Leadership Development : Provide coaching and training to build leadership capabilities, including succession and development planning.
Change Management : Lead change management initiatives with thought leadership and experience.
Influence and Conflict Management : Navigate complexity, ambiguity, and manage conflicting viewpoints effectively.
Benchmarking and Best Practices : Review and benchmark external business and talent trends to develop future best practices.
Diverse Workforce : Partner with leaders to build a diverse and innovative workforce.
HR Innovation : Drive division-wide innovative HR initiatives and programs.
Collaboration : Establish strong relationships with HR partners to coordinate HR elements successfully.
Communication and Analytics : Utilize strong communication skills and leverage analytics to gain insights and drive actionable outcomes

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
10-15 years of progressive experience in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in a matrix and global environment.
Proven ability to influence, lead, and transform.
Strong understanding of business and financial drivers with a track record of enabling business results.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the medical devices industry.
Advanced degree in Human Resources.
International HR experience.

The base pay for this position is

$149,300.00 – $298,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
