Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Director, Global Diagnostics Strategy Lead to define and execute comprehensive diagnostic strategies across molecules and programs. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to align diagnostic development with clinical, regulatory, and commercial goals.

The role oversees Dx development activities, influences decisions in a matrix environment, and may coach a small team of Dx leads while coordinating with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Doctorate + 4 years in pharma/biotech/diagnostics or related field.
• Master’s + 8 years in pharma/biotech/diagnostics or related field.
• Bachelor’s + 10 years in pharma/biotech/diagnostics or related field.
• Direct experience developing diagnostic/precision medicine strategies is preferred.
• Advanced degree in biomedical sciences or related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead integrated global diagnostic strategies from early need assessment through launch and lifecycle.
• Partner with Product Teams, program leadership and governance forums to align objectives.
• Evaluate diagnostic options including assay and platform approaches, partner strategy and pathways.
• Lead Dx Development Teams to execute diagnostic plans with Rx and Dx alignment.
• Represent the Dx function with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Manage a small team of Dx leads and collaborate across functions.
