Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in New York seeks a senior leader to head the Global Product Team and Global Development Team for a Genitourinary/Gynecology asset. You will own the clinical development and craft an integrated strategy to drive regulatory approvals and maximize product value.

You will oversee regulatory filings (BLA/NDA) and interface with health authorities, while managing the R&D budget, staffing, and risk management to ensure lifecycle success.

Qualifications

  • MD with 10+ years relevant experience in pharmaceutical/academic/medical research.
  • Experience across early/late-stage development, including regulatory filings (BLA/NDA, sBLAs/sNDAs) and product launches.
  • Oncology experience required.

Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Global Product Team (GPT) and Global Development Team (GDT) for a specific Genitourinary/Gynecology asset/product.
  • Own clinical development of the product/indication and oversee creation/execution of the clinical development plan.
  • Create and deliver an integrated product strategy through milestones/decision points to drive approvals and maximize product value.
  • Communicate program metrics, milestones, and risks to the Disease Area Head; manage R&D budget (at/below target) and funding redistribution opportunities.
  • Integrate regulatory and statistical input into trial design; interface with health authorities and governance (OLT/OSGT).
  • Select dose/schedule with clinical pharmacology; incorporate advisory board/steering committee input.
  • Partner with Oncology Commercial and BD/Commercial Development to assess US/ex-US investment opportunities.
  • Lead talent acquisition, performance management, risk/issue management, objective setting, and contingency planning.
Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
  • MD with 10+ years relevant experience in pharmaceutical/academic/medical research.
  • Experience across early/late-stage development, including regulatory filings (BLA/NDA, sBLAs/sNDAs) and product launches/lifecycle management (strongly preferred).
  • Oncology experience required.
Skills/Experience:
  • Proven ability to lead data-driven strategy; matrix leadership; alliance/corporate partner experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication (including presentations), business acumen, mentoring, and collaboration.
Benefits/Compensation (as stated):
  • Base salary: $295,900 - $493,100; Global Performance Plan bonus target 30% of base; share-based long-term incentive; 401(k) with matching; retirement contribution; paid vacation/holidays; caregiver/parental and medical leave; medical/dental/vision.
