Payward, the parent company behind Kraken, seeks a senior derivatives counsel to own the global derivatives structuring strategy. You will coordinate across US/UK/EEA entities, align with regulatory teams, and drive product governance for a cohesive derivatives offering.

You will lead a growing legal function, engage with regulators, and shape policy interactions while embedding structuring judgment into product launches and ongoing operations.

Qualifikationen

• 18+ years’ PQE in financial services regulatory law.
• Experience supporting regulator engagement (e.g., CFTC, FCA, CySEC, etc.).
• Substantial senior in-house or equivalent experience in derivatives law.
• Demonstrated ownership of structuring strategy across multiple licensed entities.

Aufgaben

• Own global derivatives structuring strategy across venues, entities and products.
• Collaborate with Regulatory Legal to solve cross-entity issues and hub-and-spoke governance.
• Be the named senior legal owner for derivatives and trading product lines from inception to launch.
• Lead and build the team; hire, level and develop senior derivatives counsel across jurisdictions.
• Partner with Global Policy and Government Relations for regulatory engagement and pre‑socialising positions.
• Support supervised estates carrying derivatives permissions and oversee new permissions and variations.
• Bring structuring capability in‑house and direct external counsel as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
