Job summary

Google is seeking an Area Lead for Third Party Data Centers within the Global Server Operations group in Atlanta, GA. You will oversee a portfolio of data centers, leading Senior Site Leaders and Operations Managers to ensure safety, KPIs, and OPEX targets are met.

You will manage installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of server hardware and network components, and shape the region’s identity with a high-performance culture. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years leading technical teams responsible for installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware servers.
• 3 years of experience in site-level data center operational leadership.
• 3 years of experience developing and managing managers.
• Linux and other OS experience; experience with developing network architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed team of Site Leaders and Operations Managers to drive safety, KPIs and operational excellence.
• Oversee the hardware and software lifecycle, including installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of servers and network components.
• Drive efficiency and optimize resource allocation across the Area, aligning objectives with workforce development.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships with DCOps, Networking, Safety, Construction and Security to remove roadblocks.
• Host site visits for executives and coordinate engagements with public officials as needed.
