This leader will combine deep expertise in cyber and technology risk underwriting with advanced analytical, governance, and leadership skills to strengthen the foundation of Coalition’s global cyber and technology E&O portfolio.

This is a fully remote position, with periodic travel as required for key meetings and training initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management & Performance:
    • Collaborate with and support regional leadership and their teams in driving sustainable profitable growth; ensuring a resilient global insurance portfolio.
    • Utilize data-driven insights and market intelligence to proactively identify and address portfolio trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.
    • In a collaborative effort with the actuarial team and CUO, monitor portfolio-level aggregation of risk exposures across geographies and industry sectors, ensuring risk appetite alignment and prudent capacity deployment.
  • Underwriting Governance & Standards:
    • Develop, document, and enforce global underwriting best practices, guidelines, and authorities in collaboration with regional and functional teams.
    • Implement and manage underwriting quality assurance programs, including regular audits, peer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Technical Enablement & Automation:
    • Collaborate with regional teams, CUO, Claims and other functional experts in developing and launching new and innovative risk solutions
    • Partner with CUO, product, technology, and actuarial teams to identify, design, and implement automation, analytics, and digital tools that enhance underwriting quality, efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Collaboration, Training & Leadership:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for complex and non-standard underwriting referrals.
    • Design, deliver, and continuously improve technical training, knowledge sharing programs, and mentorship activities to upskill underwriters globally and stay abreast of current and emerging risk issues.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and inclusion; influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive change through consensus and partnership.
  • Strategic Initiatives:
    • Support the Head of Cyber Portfolio Underwriting on global initiatives, strategic projects, and management reporting.
    • Represent Coalition at industry forums, conferences, and with key external partners as required
    • Contribute to new product development, portfolio optimization, and expansion into new markets or customer segments.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in underwriting Cyber, Technology E&O, and Miscellaneous Professional Liability, with proven expertise in portfolio management and assessing, structuring and pricing complex risks.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, consensus-building, and executive communication skills—including the ability to distill and present complex technical matters to senior leadership, regional teams, clients, and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills—with experience driving cross-functional initiatives and delivering on deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Robust knowledge of cyber risk landscape, threat actors, incident response, digital forensics, and the evolving regulatory environment impacting data privacy and cyber liability exposures.
  • Experienced working cross functionally building consensus, and driving initiatives to conclusion.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing opportunities to refine and/or automate underwriting processes
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing underwriting teams, establishing portfolio controls, and driving profitability at scale.
