Job summary

UST is seeking a Global Head of Cyber Defense to lead the 24x7 security operations center, threat intelligence, incident response, and digital risk monitoring for US clients and global engagements. The role reports to US leadership while guiding a distributed team based in India.

You will translate regulatory requirements into operational work, manage posture and detection engineering, and build a high-trust operating model across time zones. Executive presence is essential.

Qualifications

• Over 12 years in cybersecurity with leadership of security operations, cyber defense, or incident response at enterprise scale.
• Demonstrated success running a 24x7 SOC with modern detection and response stack.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Executive presence with ability to produce Board-quality reporting.
• Hands-on command of MITRE ATT&CK, incident response lifecycle, and detection engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global 24x7 SOC, detection engineering, threat hunting, threat intel, malware analysis, forensics and IR.
• Drive improvements in MTTD, MTTR, detection coverage, and analyst efficiency via automation and orchestration.
• Own security posture management and remediation prioritization aligned to risk appetite.
• Oversee the security tech stack: SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, NDR, email security, DLP, deception, and threat intel platforms.
• Lead BAS program to validate detection coverage against real-world attack patterns.
• Manage Digital Risk Monitoring and Brand Protection for external surface risks.
• Oversee vulnerability management lifecycle and coordination with Engineering and App teams.
• Govern Responsible Disclosure program and engagement with researchers.
• Partner with Security Engineering to scale detection-as-code across environments.
• Serve as US-resident security leader and escalation point for US executives; report to Global CISO.
