• Provide market-informed judgments on financing strategies for clients' needs
• Help prepare financial models and presentations to advise on capital structure
• Support due diligence and memos for internal approvals
• Become familiar with credit analysis and pricing of debt instruments
• Work on live transactions and interact with clients to build experience
• Assist in development of client-specific analyses (e.g., capital structure, acquisition finance)
• Collaborate with Investment Banking, Capital Markets and Global Transaction Services teams

The team:

Global Corporate Banking is focused on relationship management of global, large cap global corporate, managing the day-to-day relationship as well as origination of new business with specific responsibility for delivering financing, treasury and risk management advice and execution to our clients globally.

Programme Overview

Our Off-Cycle Analyst programme is designed to offer you a broad and exciting experience of what it is like to work as a full time Corporate Banking analyst. During the internship you will be placed within the Iberia coverage team, working across a diverse range of industries and products across Spanish and Portuguese clients. New joiner will be based in Madrid.

Training and Development

Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the programme in addition to on the job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.

Responsibilities:

As an off-cycle analyst, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Assist Global Corporate Banking professionals in relationship management, origination, and execution across a diverse set of product areas (including Loan & Bond financing, FX and Interest Rate Derivatives, Cash Management, leasing, etc.)
• Gain an in-depth understanding of our clients, the industries in which they operate and how the bank helps support both their growth aspirations and day-to-day banking requirements
• Provide market-informed judgments on a broad array of financing strategies to address clients' needs
• Help prepare financial models and analytical presentations to provide advice across capital structure
• Support on analysis, Due Diligence and elaboration of relevant Memos required for internal Business, Credit and Compliance approvals
• Become proficient at credit analysis and metrics used to price and structure various debt instruments
• Gain familiarity with the legal and documentation aspects of various debt instruments
• Work on live transactions and interact with clients as you build your network and experience
• Help to generate ideas and cross selling opportunities for new and existing clients
• Assist in the development of client specific analysis (e.g., capital structure, acquisition finance)
• Work closely with Investment Banking, Capital Markets and Global Transaction Services teams on client coverage and origination

Eligibility

• Candidates are required to be pursuing either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a completion time frame between January 2026 and July 2028. Completion means that you have completed all final exams, coursework, and have no outstanding requirements for graduation.
• On track for strong academic results (e.g., a minimum UK 2:1 degree classification or equivalent)
• Must be available to join the programme anytime from January until December 2027
• Applications are accepted from a diverse range of degree disciplines such as the arts and humanities, as well as numerically focused subjects such as economics and mathematics
• Proficient level in English and Native Spanish is essential
