Odyssey Logistics in Charlotte, NC, seeks a strategic VP, Controller to oversee all accounting operations, close cycles, and audit readiness. You will report to the CFO and lead a team across four divisions in a fast-paced, global environment.

This role requires CPA, 10+ years of progressive accounting responsibility, and strong leadership. You will shape internal controls, partner with finance, tax, and operations, and implement new accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in accounting/finance required or equivalent.
• CPA certification required or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting responsibility with CPA credential.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting leadership as Controller or Senior Accounting Officer.
• Experience with multiple legal entities preferred.
• Prior private equity experience a plus.
• Logistics industry experience a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed global environment with high accuracy.
• Discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of accounting professionals across 4 divisions, providing guidance and development.
• Ensure timely internal and external financial reporting and analysis.
• Maintain compliance with US GAAP and implement new accounting standards.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors and support board presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explain variances and drive decisions.
• Oversee technology implementations in accounting systems.
