Job Description

The Global Controller will play a key role in overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial controls at a rapidly growing global business. This position reports directly to the CFO, will oversee the accounting function, and drive the implementation of robust processes aligned with our strategic objectives.

Essential Functions

• Oversee the monthly closing process across multiple reporting entities, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy in consolidated financial statements
• Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures, appropriately non-burdensome for a private company, but with a long-term vision towards public SOX compliance
• Ensure timely completion of external audits and tax compliance
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals (function of ~30 employees includes direct reports in the head office and dotted-line reports in the business units), providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Drive ERP implementation (SAP) and fully leverage technical functionality to improve operational efficiency. Be prepared to integrate future acquired entities
• Lead the transition from locally managed AR and AP activities to a best-in-class, highly automated global shared service
  
  

Qualifications

• Active CPA with strong technical accounting knowledge and GAAP
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related
• 15years of experience in related controller or finance leadership roles
• Deep understanding of intercompany transactions and reporting including multi-entity intercompany eliminations and FX components
• Proven organizational leadership and mentorship skills, especially in a matrixed environment
• Experience with ERP (SAP) implementation projects

• Solutions-oriented thinker willing to be hands-on
• Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills
• Experience in a private equity-backed environment with direct involvement in post-acquisition financial integration
• Familiarity with international financial reporting and compliance, including UK statutory reporting, VAT and tax considerations
• Experience in manufacturing industries
