Job summary

Zendesk is seeking a Director of Global Compensation to own strategy, governance, and execution of compensation programs worldwide. You will partner with Finance, Legal, Payroll, and HR leaders to drive workforce planning, pay equity, and budget management while building scalable, equitable practices.

You will lead policy development, analytics, and systems you own, with accountability for executive compensation, budget cycles, and governance across regions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, business, or finance.
  • 12+ years in global/ executive compensation or total rewards leadership.
  • 5+ years leading managers and scaling teams.
  • Experience partnering with senior Finance, Legal, Payroll, HR and executives on strategy and execution.
  • Experience building scalable compensation programs, playbooks, and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the global compensation function including advising, analytics, tools, policy governance, and support.
  • Develop, modify, and execute global compensation policies and procedures.
  • Establish compensation strategies and operating models aligned with market and business objectives.
  • Lead governance on complex compensation matters and provide guidance to leaders and employees.
  • Partner with Finance, Payroll, Legal, Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards on planning, budgeting, and offers.
  • Lead analytics on market benchmarking, pay equity, range penetration, and executive reporting.
  • Own compensation tools, datasets, and automation for scale and accuracy.
  • Support executive compensation activities including equity and governance.
