Zendesk, Inc. is seeking a Director of Global Compensation to own strategy, governance, and execution of compensation programs across the company worldwide.

This leadership role drives competitive pay decisions, talent retention, and scalable, equitable practices with a data-driven, automated approach. You will partner with Finance, Legal, Payroll, Total Rewards, and HR leaders to influence workforce planning, budget management, and pay equity, while building scalable operations and governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in global compensation, executive compensation, total rewards, compensation analytics, or enterprise HR leadership.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing managers and scaling teams.
• Strong experience partnering with senior Finance, Legal, Payroll, HR, and business leaders on compensation strategy and execution.
• Demonstrated success building scalable compensation programs, playbooks, and governance frameworks.
• Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, accruals, and compensation planning related to enterprise workforce programs.
• Deep knowledge of compensation principles, market pricing, pay equity, job architecture, incentive design, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the global compensation function, including policy governance and support.
• Develop and execute global compensation policies aligned with business goals.
• Lead analytics on market pricing, pay equity, and range penetration.
• Own compensation tools, data integrity, and automation.
• Partner with Finance, Payroll, Legal, and Total Rewards for planning.
• Manage executive compensation activities and governance.
