Job description

Hubble Network was founded with the intention of delivering on the promise of what Internet-of-Things (IoT) was supposed to be. We're building a global Bluetooth® network dedicated to machine-to-machine connectivity. We differentiate ourselves as the first modem-less and gateway-less, direct-to-satellite network from off-the-shelf Bluetooth® Low Energy chips. Hubble is ideal for applications in logistics, AgTech, and maritime where economies of scale for volume consumer and enterprise asset tracking is a priority. Our goal is to be the first billion-endpoint-connected network in the world.

Hubble is an early-stage, venture-backed startup supported by some of the best investors in the world. In their previous lives, the founding team has been successful in raising $100s of millions in venture funding, developing the Amazon Sidewalk network, launching billions of dollars of space assets, and leading their teams to successful exits, both through acquisition and IPO. We are now looking to bring on talented team members who are the best at what they do to help us make Hubble a reality for the world.

We’re looking for a Global Commodity Manager to help lead execution across Hubble’s core product areas — including our satellite and terrestrial networks, developer platform, applications and tools, and partner solutions. This role is about owning the “why” and the “what” of what we build, driving clarity and momentum across engineering, design, and customer teams.

You’ll work closely with leaders across hardware, firmware, software, and customer success to translate strategic goals into clear product plans and deliverables. This is a hands‑on role for a builder — someone who can move between technical detail, customer insight, and company strategy without losing momentum.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE MEETS OUR VALUES:
A Sense of Urgency

Lead projects from concept to reality, rapidly and effectively

First Principles Engineering

Have a strong understanding of the "why's" behind the "what's"; have the ability to extrapolate from first principles to complex system design

High Learning Agility

Love to learn; have a grounded approach to recognizing your weaknesses and take the initiative to brush up on and sharpen your engineering foundations to better collaborate with your teammates with different backgrounds

System-Level Design and Analysis

Understand the requirements flow down process and be able to quickly iterate on evolving requirements

Excellent Communication Skills

Effectively convey ideas and communicate technical topics with engineering, build staff, and operations; run self-directed design reviews and participate in reviews of parallel systems

Anticipation of Needs

Identify problems, think creatively, and rapidly produce reliable and cost-effective solutions to meet the ever growing and changing needs of an early‑stage company

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or commodity management, specializing in PCB/A, FPGA, or related electronic interconnect technologies.
  • Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of PCBAs with over 30 suppliers and expected budgets upwards of $5M.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing supplier strategies, including technology evaluation, qualification, commercial negotiations, and fostering long‑term supplier relationships for PCB and FPGA components.
  • Partner with hardware engineering teams to influence PCB stack‑up designs, material choices, component selections to enhance manufacturability and supply chain robustness.
  • Adept at identifying supply chain risks and devising mitigation strategies across complex, multi‑program hardware portfolios.
  • Excellent communication skills in conveying sourcing strategies, supplier performance metrics, and program updates to technical and business stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Assess and benchmark manufacturing technologies, materials, and supplier capabilities to inform sourcing decisions and support design-for-manufacturability standards. Driver of supplier qualifications.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time.
STRONGLY DESIRED
  • Candidates should have a background in hardware engineering or manufacturing process engineering, supporting design-for-manufacturability collaboration with PCB and FPGA suppliers.
  • Experience using AI-powered spend analytics tools (e.g., for should-cost modeling or supplier price benchmarking) to identify cost-reduction opportunities as well as comfort using generative AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate RFQ drafting, supplier scorecards, or market research synthesis.
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes such as HDI stack‑up design, surface finish selection and controlled impedance.
  • Experience in sourcing PCB and components for space-rated applications
