Job summary

Hubble Network seeks a Wireless Systems Engineer to develop and implement algorithms enabling wireless connectivity between terrestrial Bluetooth devices and satellites. You will model, design and implement wireless systems, working with cross-functional hardware-software teams.

Hubble Network was founded with the intention of delivering on the promise of what Internet-of-Things (IoT) was supposed to be. We're building a global Bluetooth® network dedicated to machine-to-machine connectivity. We differentiate ourselves as the first modem-less and gateway-less, direct-to-satellite network from off-the-shelf Bluetooth® Low Energy chips. Hubble is ideal for applications in logistics, AgTech, and maritime where economies of scale for volume consumer and enterprise asset tracking is a priority. As a Wireless Systems Engineer, you will be part of the team developing and implementing algorithms to enable wireless connectivity between Terrestrial Bluetooth® devices and satellites. You will be involved in all aspects of the modeling, system design and implementation of wireless communication and work with cross-functional groups of hardware-software engineers.

This is a full-time position with preference to be based in Seattle, WA (Relocation Assistance Available) but open to a remote work option (for senior/more experienced candidates).

• Anticipation of Needs: Identify problems, think creatively, and rapidly produce reliable and cost-effective solutions to meet the ever growing and changing needs of an early-stage company

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years of directly relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of communication theory & signal processing-related algorithm design (such as channel estimation, equalization, beamforming, timing recovery, coding, error correction, etc.)
• Knowledge in existing wireless communication protocols; such as 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, 802.11ad/ay or Bluetooth®/Bluetooth Low Energy.
• Expertise in developing signal processing and wireless communications systems (e.g., FSK/OFDM/MIMO, etc.) and hands-on experience with lab testing and characterization.
• Experience with Matlab or Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
• Experience and knowledge on High Level Synthesis (HLS), silicon prototyping, FPGA development and emulation systems.
• Experience on bring-up of real systems in silicon/FPGA/SoC and use of lab test equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to learn new technologies, network protocols and tools rapidly.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills is a must
• Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
• Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when specific highly-critical events dictate as needed
• Passion for creating state-of-the-art software systems

STRONGLY DESIRED

• 5 - 10 years relevant experience
• Experience with multi-radio coexistence management.
• Experience in modem architecture, microprocessor architecture, hardware and software control.
• Experience on low power algorithm design for power critical application.
