Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Global Commodities Manager to lead strategic sourcing for battery commodities, driving cost optimization and supply continuity for AWS Battery Team. You will collaborate with supply chain, engineering and business partners to develop roadmaps and execution plans, engaging with multiple silicon suppliers and key stakeholders.

The role focuses on reducing total cost of ownership, managing supplier relationships, and delivering sustainable sourcing strategies

Qualifications

• 6+ years of negotiating and executing business agreements.
• 6+ years of working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking.
• 5+ years of solving problems with technology in the Automotive & Manufacturing industries.
• 5+ years of solving problems with technology in the Energy & Utilities industries.
• Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
• Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing engagements and sourcing teams in opportunity identification and RFIs where appropriate.
• Develop and implement negotiation strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers.
• Analyze and determine opportunities to leverage and consolidate the supply base using system level tools and techniques.
• Evaluate supplier core competencies, technologies, and competitive positioning using industry cost models.
• Review and approve a comprehensive list of suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing the industry to understand trends and competitive positioning, ensuring system activation of the best possible supply base.
• Negotiate and implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions.
• Drive suppliers for continuous improvement manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations by leveraging the growth of Amazon's spend.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and establish yourself as a primary business contact for key suppliers.
