Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Hardware Commodity Specialist to manage procurement for Battery Backup Units (BBUs) and optimize global supply. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement in forecasting, capacity planning, and supplier relations.

You will partner with OEMs and internal teams to ensure timely supply, manage costs, and support last-mile operations while leveraging analytics to drive performance and efficiency

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations experience.

Responsibilities

  • Understand forecasting, demand planning, material planning, and manufacturing processes to verify supply commitments
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to forecast battery demand and manage supply positioning globally to support last mile operations
  • Own capacity planning with key OEMs and optimize supply chain network to best deliver for customers.
  • Work with various analytics and software development teams to drive operational excellence
  • Develop analytical tools and dashboards to track metrics, monitor SLAs, and report findings
  • Drive EOL management, collaborate with engineering, DC operations and finance to ensure cross-functional alignment on supply, product roadmap and budget requirements
