Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Commissioning Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role involves managing and executing commissioning projects while collaborating with engineering and construction teams. Candidates should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, with at least three years of commissioning experience, and certifications in relevant areas. The expected compensation range is $100,000.00–$150,000.00 annually, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including employee stock ownership and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• 3 years of direct commissioning or related experience in startups and testing of facility systems.
• Certification in the Commissioning Process (CxA, CCP, BCxP), Energy Management (CEM), and/or LEED Accreditation is a plus.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute commissioning and energy related projects.
• Prepare commissioning plans, specifications, and functional test documentation.
• Collaborate with design and construction personnel to ensure proper project coordination.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate new and existing systems.
• Assist in developing methodologies and standards for commissioning practice.

Skills

Mechanical, electrical, and/or technical system commissioning experience

Problem-solving skills

Strong facilitation and team collaboration

Experience in ASHRAE level energy audits

Education

BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
