Job summary

Kymera International seeks a Shipyard Quality Coatings Inspector to join our field service team in Houston with extensive travel to US and international job sites. The role requires NACE/AMPP/NBPI certification, strong coating material knowledge, and the ability to work aboard vessels under varied conditions.

You will inspect surfaces, verify surface preparation, and document results while adhering to MIL-STD and ISO standards. Travel 50–75% is required, including overseas assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of coatings inspection or shipyard/field service experience.
• NACE/AMPP/NBPI certification required.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% including international assignments.
• Ability to interpret drawings and MIL-STD/ISO quality standards.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings and have U.S. Person status (ITAR).

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools.
• Interpret and apply MIL-STD, ISO 9001, AS9100D requirements.
• Maintain calibration programs per ISO/ANSI standards.
• Document inspection results and communicate findings to team and clients.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformances.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, shipyard safety rules, and safety policies.
• Travel to shipboard and remote locations to support projects.
