Job summary

The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation in Flint, Michigan, invites applications for a Program Officer in Civil Society. The role spans the Foundation’s Common Ground and Protection of the Sector initiatives, with travel to the US and internationally required.

We seek candidates with extensive experience in civic space, grantmaking and strategic program management, capable of working across complex organizations and with diverse stakeholders. This is full-time, based in Flint.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of professional experience in civic space or civil society.
• Experience in large, complex organizations such as a foundation or NGO.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute multiyear grantmaking strategies within the Common Ground and/or Protection of the Sector initiatives.
• Manage the full grantmaking life cycle per Foundation policies and procedures.
• Maintain and build relationships with grantees and networks to enhance capacity and impact.
