Job summary

Valmet seeks a Category Purchaser for mechanical components to lead global spare parts procurement. You will manage casting, forging, and machine-part sourcing, negotiate prices, define supply strategies, and drive cost reduction with cross-functional teams across regions.

The role emphasizes supplier management, compliance with policies, and maintaining inventory to support healthy net working capital in a dynamic, global setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 2–5 years in Category Management or Sourcing in industrial sectors.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making.
• Experience operating in ERP systems (Infor LN preferable).

Responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities for assigned categories and suppliers.
• Lead annual price negotiations and maintain pricing data in ERP systems.
• Define and implement supply strategies with cross-functional teams.
• Drive long-term cost-reduction initiatives and support CCC sourcing.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships focusing on delivery, quality, and lead times.
• Monitor compliance with internal procurement policies and contractual standards.
