Scope of Role We are seeking a Global Category Manager Expert – Machined Components to lead the global category for Machined and Bearing components across our worldwide supply base. This high-impact role partners with engineering, operations, and regional sourcing teams to unlock cost savings, improve supplier performance, and ensure long-term supply chain reliability.

You will lead global sourcing strategies, negotiate complex machining contracts, develop suppliers in low-cost regions, and build category frameworks that support scalability and sustainability. From cost modeling to problem-solving sessions with plant teams, this role sits at the intersection of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and global supplier partnership.

If you have deep knowledge of machining processes (milling, turning, grinding, casting, forming), thrive in a matrixed environment, and enjoy building strategies that deliver meaningful business value, this is an opportunity to lead category transformation at a global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and communicates all strategic sourcing activities for assigned commodities and services, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners in supply chain, engineering, technical support, and operations.
  • Conducts brainstorming and problem-solving sessions at facilities with cross-functional groups to identify strategic opportunities and prioritize deployment of cost-saving initiatives.
  • Provides oversight, guidance, and direction to sourcing and project managers to ensure effective deployment of strategic projects with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with global and regional supply teams to identify, assess, and qualify strategic suppliers that align with category and business objectives.
  • Partners with global facilities to build regional and global material cost-savings funnels aligned with corporate strategies and financial targets.
  • Leads comprehensive spend analysis, developing countermeasures for projects that fall short of plan and making data-driven decisions to resolve issues and ensure teams meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Develop and deliver category strategies that advance strategic sourcing initiatives, drive year-over-year cost savings, and support long-term value creation.
  • Proactively evaluates internal and external process improvement opportunities, leading and influencing meaningful changes to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with Regal Rexnord business segments to prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and oversees the screening and supplier selection process.
  • Negotiates and manages supplier contracts, including payment terms, delivery schedules, pricing, freight terms, currency exposure, raw material fluctuations, and inventory levels.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to assess current and future product needs and identify potential availability risks.
  • Provides timely reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and presents strategic sourcing plans and performance updates to stakeholders.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (BA or BS), preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment within a strategic Procurement or Supply Chain role.
  • Proven experience developing and executing global sourcing strategies.
  • Strong technical expertise in machining processes—including milling, turning, grinding, metal forming, and gear cutting with deep understanding of manufacturing and raw material inputs for machined and stamped components.
  • Proven experience operating within a matrixed organization and managing categories at a global level.
  • Experienced in negotiating external machining processes and driving supplier development with measurable performance improvements.
  • Skilled in sourcing across low-cost regions and managing global, multi-region partnerships.
  • Proven success thriving in change-intensive, high-stretch environments.
  • Strong cost-modeling expertise for machined, cast, and fabricated components.
  • Proven track record delivering strategic sourcing KPIs, including cost reductions and strategy deployment.
  • Able to navigate and solve complex, high-volume, and sometimes contradictory information effectively.
