This role will require a candidate with the ability to work closely, yet remotely, with Regional and Global procurement teams regarding the utilization of strategies and techniques within the operating environment.What you will do:As a Global Category Manager, your responsibilities will include:Delivering on Ingredion’s capital plan and execution of sourcing events to reduce cost, drive adherence to schedule, and improve service and quality levels.Developing, executing, and evaluating competitive bids, including providing recommendations to business partners based on operational best practicesGuiding the business through the sourcing process, and providing insights, advice, and resources (e.g., tools and processes)Develop a centralized category management approach and category strategies for key equipmentBuild and develop talent that directly reports to the global category managerSupporting the business in performing performance, risk, and relationship reviews at the supplier levelBuilding partnerships with front-line business stakeholdersDrive adherence in use of the company’s procurement technology platforms such as SAP and Power Steering.Drive adherence to CAPEX procurement policiesDrive Center of Excellence for Global CAPEX: Improve templates for contracting, RFx, supplier qualification process, drive supplier performance scorecards and improve overall global CAPEX standardizationThis role will require a candidate with the ability to work closely, yet remotely, with regional procurement teams regarding the utilization of strategies and techniques within the operating environment.Owning analysis to identify additional levers at global & local scaleCollaborating with local category managers to support strategy execution in the region/countrySupport regional CAPEX labor market including engineering servicesSupport maintenance strategy for US/CAN maintenance laborWhat you will bring:A bachelor’s degree in business, supply management, engineering, life science, or other related discipline and at least three years of procurement/purchasing experienceStrong financial and business acumen, as it relates to ProcurementTechnical, plant operation, and/or engineering experience preferredAbility to quickly internalize new information and become a subject matter expertAbility to work well both as part of a team and independentlyKnowledge and understanding of purchasing practices, policies, and procedures; in-depth experience in using SAP Ariba as a value-creating tool, SAP Fieldglass, and PowerSteeringAbility to multitask with experience in successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously with results consistent with management’s expectationsA demonstrated history of successfully collaborating with multiple internal stakeholdersA passion for managing and developing employees in alignment with company valuesStrong oral and written communication skills, be highly organized, and have excellent problem solving/decision making abilitiesExcellent analytical and financial acumen including cost modeling, budgeting, and forecastingExcellent skills within the Microsoft Office suiteWho you are:Have 3 years or more of experience in procurement within the capital arena as well as the indirect parts and services categorySelf-directed with an ability to work remotely from your direct managerAre organized with strong attention to detailSeek to deliver a laser-focus on your internal customersPossess a desire to manage multiple priorities and achieve resultsHave strong communication and interpersonal skills, build consensus, and foster positive relationships with team members and suppliersEnjoy a performance culture that values work intensityPossess an owner’s mindset and enjoy challenging the status quoWhy Join Ingredion?Discover why Ingredion is the ideal place to advance your career with our exceptional rewards and benefits package designed to help you thrive.
