Job summary

Qnity, a global leader in advanced electronics materials, is seeking a Global Business Controller and Accounting Policy Leader. You will establish and lead the Accounting Policy and Controls team, oversee complex transactions, and partner with senior leaders to ensure accurate reporting.

This role requires CPA, US GAAP mastery, 14+ years in policy/external reporting, and 5+ years of people management. You will coordinate across Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and Audit, shaping the company's

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related technical field.
  • CPA certification required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 14+ years of accounting policy/external reporting experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of team management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and leading the Accounting Policy and Controls team encompassing complex non-routine transactions and projects, valuation and impairment considerations, lease accounting, revenue recognition, derivative and hedge accounting, exit and disposal activities, foreign currency matters, business combinations.
  • Lead our business controllers who serve as a key advisor to a line of business, offering expert guidance on accounting policies, practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, Business Finance to ensure accurate financial accounting and reporting.
  • Managing compliance with our internal controls framework and addressing internal controls matters with both internal and external audit teams.
  • Engage with external audit partners to review and conclude on technical accounting matters.
  • Analyze new accounting guidance from the FASB, SEC and other regulatory bodies, including evaluating the impact on the Company’s financial statements and implementing new accounting standards.
  • Provide accounting guidance and reporting updates to CEO, CFO, Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller.

Global Business Controller and Accounting Policy Leader
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishing and leading the Accounting Policy and Controls team encompassing complex non-routine transactions and projects, valuation and impairment considerations, lease accounting, revenue recognition, derivative and hedge accounting, exit and disposal activities, foreign currency matters, business combinations, etc.
  • Lead our business controllers who serve as a key advisor to a line of business, offering expert guidance on accounting policies, practices, and compliance requirements. This includes interpreting relevant financial regulations and standards to ensure that the line of business adheres to established accounting procedures and internal controls. The Accounting Policy Leader and controllers will collaborate closely with business leaders to address accounting-related challenges thus enabling them to make informed financial decisions that drive success.
  • Collaborate with multiple functions and departments including Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, Business Finance to ensure accurate financial accounting and reporting.
  • Managing compliance with our internal controls framework and addressing internal controls matters with both internal and external audit teams.
  • Engage with external audit partners to review and conclude on technical accounting matters.
  • Analyze new accounting guidance from the FASB, SEC and other regulatory bodies, including evaluating the impact of new guidance on the Company’s financial statements and implementing new accounting standards, as required.
  • Provide accounting guidance and reporting updates to key company personnel including CEO, CFO, Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller.
Your Qualification Profile:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related technical field is required. MBA is preferred
  • CPA required
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and SEC Reporting
  • 14+ years of experience with Big 4 or a combination of industry related experience in an accounting policy role and/or external reporting role
  • Minimum of 5 years of team management experience required
  • Strong oral and written skills
