Job description

The Repurchase Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and executing highly time-sensitive recovery, repurchase, and contractual obligation activities to support the firm's Residential Mortgage Trading Desks across various asset classes, including agency/non-agency new origination and non-performing/re-performing mortgage loans.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with clients, trading desks, legal counsel, compliance experts, and business line peers to ensure timely resolution of inbound and outbound repurchase demand activity.
  2. Provide consistent, accurate, and timely reporting to counterparties and key stakeholders.
  3. Create and maintain documentation for assigned processes in line with the Firm's guidelines.
  4. Oversee the complete repurchase cycle, including claim validation, demand initiation, funding, and resolution.
  5. Manage workflows and queue assignments to meet contractual obligations within specified timelines.
  6. Use analytical skills to interpret loan documentation, transaction agreements, and system data to produce concise, fact-based summaries of repurchase demands or appeals.
  7. Input data into a comprehensive database tracking repurchases.
  8. Schedule and lead routine communication with clients and maintain strong relationships.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex models into actionable insights.
  2. Knowledge of Capital Markets, Servicing, Secondary Market Functions, Mortgage Loan Origination, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, and Title Insurance.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders including peers, servicers, vendors, clients, and trading desks.
  5. Self-confidence, good judgment, sense of urgency, sound decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
