Goldman Sachs in Dallas seeks an Analyst for the Relationship Lending Group to underwrite, structure, execute, and advise on a broad set of lending transactions. You will coordinate from inception to close, serving as a resource to senior team members and acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and internal partners.
Responsibilities include coordinating deal execution, leading multiple deals, negotiating with syndication banks and counsel, and shaping portfolio strategy with analytics
At Goldman Sachs, the Relationship Lending Group (RLG) serves as a fundamental step in the firm's approach to the relationship-based lending business. By underwriting, structuring, executing, and advising on a wide array of transactions that require the firm's capital commitment, RLG ensures the smooth facilitation of financial solutions ranging from unsecured and secured revolvers — including asset-based lending (ABL), borrowing base, and reserve-based lending (RBL) facilities — to term loans, bridge loans, delayed draw term loans, and letter of credit facilities. These transactions span primary loan syndication, refinancing, amendments, secondary market purchases, and bilateral lending.
Collaboration is central to the RLG role; team members will regularly coordinate with other banks' syndication desks, clients/borrowers, external legal counsel, and a broad spectrum of internal teams such as Investment Banking, Investment Grade Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Legal, and Credit Risk Management.
We are specifically seeking a senior member of the team with extensive knowledge of and background in the Natural Resources sector — including energy, oil & gas (upstream, midstream, downstream), power and renewables, metals and mining, and related industries — to help deepen the group's sector expertise and support the firm's natural resources client franchise.
We are looking for an Analyst who is commercially minded, technically sharp, and ready to help drive the front-to-back execution process. You will serve an integral member of the team — helping to coordinate transactions from inception to close, serving as a resource to senior members of the team, and acting as a trusted point of contact for internal partners and external counterparties alike.
Support the structuring, underwriting/approval, and closing of relationship-based lending transactions — including revolving credit facilities, asset-based lending (ABL), borrowing base and reserve-based lending (RBL) facilities, term loans, delayed draw term loans, bridge financings, and letter of credit facilities — across primary syndication, refinancings, amendments, and bilateral lending. Includes authoring of and coordination with key stakeholders in the preparation of Capital Committee Memos.
Manage multiple simultaneous deals at various stages, coordinating across Investment Banking coverage teams, Investment Grade Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Legal, and Credit Risk Management. You will be expected to identify and resolve issues proactively, escalating significant matters with clear recommendations.
Communicate and negotiate with syndication banks, borrowers, and external legal counsel. You will represent the firm in documentation negotiations and help shape commercial terms that protect Goldman Sachs while maintaining strong client relationships.
Leverage your day-to-day knowledge of your deal flow into analytical take ways for senior management. Provide guidance and review analytics, presentations, and portfolio reporting for senior management and key internal stakeholders. Your analysis will directly inform capital allocation decisions and help the team identify commercial opportunities within the existing book.
Contribute ideas on how to deepen client relationships through lending and help position the RLG as a strategic partner to coverage bankers and their clients. Leverage new tools and technologies (including AI) to improve efficiency and enhance value added analyses.
