Job summary

Southco is seeking an Automation Project Leader to manage a global portfolio of automation and manufacturing equipment projects across the Americas and Europe, including Honeoye Falls, NY. You will own the full lifecycle from scoping to commissioning, coordinating supplier sourcing and ensuring safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates have a Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering background with 7+ years in manufacturing/automation, and travel about 20% internationally to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing/automation engineering, controls or capital project management.
• Proven track record managing multiple concurrent capital equipment projects from concept to start-up.
• Excellent cross-cultural communication and ability to work with global suppliers and plant teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally about 20% of the time, including to China and other locations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver global automation projects: manage 3–5 concurrent automation and manufacturing equipment projects from scope definition through installation and start-up.
• Keep projects on track: manage scopes, budgets, schedules and report variances to leadership.
• Source and manage automation equipment suppliers, including in China and low-cost regions, negotiating scope, cost and quality.
• Ensure regional regulatory and safety standards are met before shipment, installation and start-up.
• Align regional teams across Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific and communicate project status clearly.
