Job summary

Zobility is seeking a dedicated Purchase Buyer II to join our Auburn Hills, MI team. The role focuses on domestic and international sourcing for automation, supplier development, and cost optimization.

You will manage supplier performance, procurement execution, and inventory control while ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with SOPs. This position requires strong negotiation, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP/SCM systems and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI) to drive procurement decisions.
• Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiation to achieve cost savings and value optimization.
• Strong ability to analyze supply chain disruptions, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Proven capability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives in fast-paced environments while meeting critical deadlines.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability in independently managing procurement categories or supplier portfolios.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
• Advanced negotiation, financial analysis, and cost modeling skills.
• Proactive demand planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization capabilities.
• Experience in supplier relationship management (SRM), including performance tracking and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of risk management, compliance, and global sourcing strategies.
• Willingness and ability to travel to supplier and client sites for audits, relationship building, and issue resolution

Responsibilities

• Supplier management & review
• Alternate sourcing / ensure development of substitute for each commodity
• Review Indent, prioritize urgencies & initiate procurement process
• Ontime Procurement at optimum cost
• Resolve queries related to procurements with Stores & Accounts on daily basis
• Responsible for Procurement of Capex & maintain & monitor compliance record of on time actions
• Utilization / liquidation efforts on Excess inventory
• Analyze & define Reorder level
• Achieve adequate inventory management by suggesting nearest alternative available in excess, cost effective, alternates (makes)
• Ensure SOP compliance & resolve points / queries raised MIS
• Review of Pending PO report on weekly basis & PO Vs GRIR report on monthly basis
• Update Goals & Achievement Folder for KRAs on weekly basis
