Job summary

Vaco is hiring for a Global Assistant Controller role in Miami, FL. This is a direct hire with four days onsite, offering a salary of 180,000–220,000 per year plus bonus.

The Assistant Controller – Global will support the Global Controller in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and close activities across domestic and international entities. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Active CPA license.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Experience supporting external audits and financial statement preparation.
• Strong ERP experience with complex financial systems.
• Demonstrated month-end, quarter-end, year-end close experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced global environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations across revenue recognition, inventory, AR, AP, GL, fixed assets, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure policies and procedures are consistently applied across domestic and international entities.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls, and increase efficiency.
• Oversee luxury and exotic vehicle inventory accounting, valuations, and aging analysis.
• Maintain revenue recognition policies across automotive, media, advertising, and digital marketplaces.
• Support SOX compliance, internal controls, and external audits.
• Assist with tax, regulatory, payroll, commission, and other compliance activities.
• Partner with FP&A and leadership on budgeting, forecasting and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business initiatives.
• Support due diligence and accounting activities for acquisitions and new ventures.
• Coordinate with IT on ERP and system enhancements; automation initiatives.
• Develop and improve accounting workflows and internal controls.
• Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team.
