Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to maintain serviceability of contingency and armored fleet vehicles, including overseas deployments.

You will inspect selected vehicles, prepare detailed reports, and support the Armored Vehicle Branch under SA-7D governance. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing DS armored vehicles, modifying armor components, and ensuring readiness for shipments worldwide.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of adjustments and alignments for armor components throughout life.
• Familiarity with automotive repair tools, diagnostic tools, glass tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate the armored vehicle repair facility and travel worldwide for repairs.
• Diagnose and repair DS armored vehicles and determine best action per manuals and industry practices.
• Perform major and minor repairs to OEM systems and armor-specific components, including disassembly and armor installation.
• Prepare detailed repair reports for domestic and overseas vehicles.
• Compare field inspection data to assess manufacturer products.
• Use web-based maintenance tracking for costs of DEAV repairs.
• Lead teams on temporary duty assignments and prepare repair reports.
