Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Manager, Accounts Payable to oversee global P2P operations, drive automation, and strengthen controls. The role partners across Finance and business functions to ensure timely, accurate AP processing, while leading a team in a hybrid setup based in Cambridge, MA.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in AP, 3+ years leading dispersed teams, and hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, and OpenText VIM, with a focus on SOX and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable
• 3+ years leading a global or geographically dispersed AP team
• Strong understanding of end-to-end P2P processes and multi-entity AP operations
• Experience using automation, analytics, and process improvement to enhance AP efficiency and controls
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, OpenText VIM preferred
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• SOX/fraud mitigation experience within AP
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the AP team to deliver high-quality, timely, and accurate processing across global entities
• Oversee daily Invoice to Pay activities, including invoice validation and vendor payments
• Monitor KPIs and analytics to identify trends and drive improvements
• Partner with technical teams to enhance tools and expand automation
• Maintain internal controls and support SOX, fraud, and risk mitigation
• Collaborate with Procurement and other P2P stakeholders to align processes
• Work with Accounting, IT, Treasury, Audit, Operations, and Legal to support operations
• Manage AP month-end activities, including accruals and reconciliations
• Provide updates to stakeholders on operations and improvement efforts
• Support scalable AP processes as the business grows
• Ensure compliance with AP policies and regulatory requirements such as 1099 reporting
