Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Agent Standards Architect to lead external standards strategy for agent identity, discovery, delegation, and related areas. You will translate internal architecture into credible specifications, coordinate with security and product teams, and participate in external forums to shape open standards.

The role combines building internal playbooks with advocacy, governance, and collaboration to ensure standards readiness and alignment with OpenAI’s roadmap.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical standards, internet protocols, or security architecture.
• Ability to draft normative specifications and conformance requirements.
• Familiarity with OAuth, OIDC, FIDO, WebAuth, and related identity protocols.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage core agent standards workstreams and develop protocol profiles.
• Collaborate with Security, Engineering, Product, Legal, and GRC to translate architecture into credible specifications.
• Represent OpenAI in external standards forums and coalitions.
