Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks an Analyst for the Glide Phased Interceptor (GPI) Program Office at the Missile Defense Agency in Virginia.

You will assist the Program Manager, Deputy, and Chief Engineer, helping manage cost, performance and schedule while interfacing with internal MDA teams and external stakeholders. Qualifications

  • US Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or non-STEM with 20+ years of related experience working DOD or missile defense/weapon systems
  • Master’s Degree in a non-STEM Discipline with 12+ years of related experience on DOD or missile defense/weapon system programs
  • Works Independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks
  • Self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic program office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to provide program oversight and recommendations for resolution of complex technical issues
  • Familiarity with Navy Weapon Systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide Systems Engineering support for the Missile Defense Agency Aegis-Based Weapon Systems Glide Phase Interceptor Program.
  • Develop program plans, POA&M recommendations, and prepare executive briefing packages and documentation.
  • Produce, review and manage engineering documents; prepare technical papers, briefs, schedules and risk documents.
  • Interface with MDA activities, Navy programs, APL, MIT Lincoln Laboratory and industry partners; coordinate program activities across OGAs.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills to work in a fast-paced program office.
  • Report to the Glide Phase Interceptor Program Manager, Chief Engineer and Chief System Engineer to aid success.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and provide solutions to senior leadership.
  • Apply disciplined systems engineering; address performance requirements and trades.
  • Assist in applying digital engineering and agile acquisition processes.

Job description

Analyst in the Glide Phased Interceptor (GPI) Program Office at the Missile Defense Agency. You will be working in a fast-paced high-visibility program office. You will be assisting the Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, and Chief Engineer managing cost, performance and schedule to ensure that the GPI program is successful. You will be preparing documents and briefs for program reviews, managing complex technical issues, and interfacing with internal MDA and external stakeholders. You will work with Integrated Product Teams. GPI is a cooperative development program between the US and Japan, so there will be potential interactions with Japanese counterparts.   • Provide Systems Engineering support for the Missile Defense Agency Aegis-Based Weapon Systems Glide Phase Interceptor Program.
  • Develop program plans, plan of action and milestone (POA&M) recommendations, and prepare executive level briefing packages and formal documentation. Prepare alternative courses of action analysis and executive level results presentation.
  • Produce, review and manage engineering documents. Prepare technical and position papers, engineering briefs, schedules and risk management documents.
  • Interface with internal and external MDA activities, Navy programs, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory and industry partners. Coordinate and manage program activities across OGAs.
  • Self-motivated, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and can work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic program office.
  • Will be responsible to the Glide Phase Interceptor Program Manager, Chief Engineer, and Chief System Engineer to help ensure program success.
  • Will be required to resolve complex technical issues as well as provide potential solutions to senior members of the Program Office.
  • Apply disciplined systems engineering practices, identify and resolve complex problems associated with technical performance requirements, systems engineering, and performance trades.
  • Assist in the application of innovative digital engineering and agile acquisition processes in the execution of assigned tasks.
Experience/Qualifications
  • US Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or non-STEM discipline with 20+ years of related experience working DOD or missile defense/weapon systems or;
  • Master’s Degree in a non-STEM Discipline with 12+ years of related experience working on DOD or missile defense/weapon system programs

Desired Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Prior experience with Aegis Weapons Systems
  • Prior Program Office experience
  • Technical experience in one of the following areas: Fleet operations, Systems Engineering, Weapon Systems development and operations, Aegis Qualifications, etc.
The pay range for this position in Virginia is $125,000/year to $160,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. Base pay information is based on market location.
