Position Details

• Duration: Summer season, with application deadline April 30th, 2024
• Location: Inside at YMCA and outdoors at Glenwood Aquatic Center
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends is required

Pay Range

This range is provided by YMCA of Greater Omaha. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay: $13.50/hr - $14.16/hr

Certification & Training

Lifeguard certification is required. Course registration is required at interview. Training includes American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen, provided by the YMCA.

Position Summary

Supports the YMCA's mission by creating a safe, welcoming environment, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies in the aquatics area.

Essential Functions

• Maintain active surveillance of the pool area
• Respond promptly to emergencies following YMCA policies
• Enforce pool rules and report inappropriate behavior
• Perform safety checks and equipment maintenance
• Assist with facility maintenance and chemical testing
• Participate in meetings and training

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old
• Current Lifeguard certification, CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen
• Ability to work independently and attentively
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups
• Background check clearance
