Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking Medical Laboratory Technicians for a new Freestanding Emergency Department & Urgent Care set to open in Mid 2025 in the Glenmary area. Candidates will perform essential testing and quality control tasks in compliance with CLIA '88 guidelines and must fulfill specific educational and certification requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two-year diploma in biological or chemical science required.
  • Certification as MLT by ASCP or AMT within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing in Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, and Microbiology.
  • Conduct QC and QA as assigned after competency is demonstrated.
  • Perform clerical tasks related to laboratory services.

Job Summary

Performs waived and moderate complexity testing according to CLIA '88 guidelines in one or all of the following fields within the Clinical Laboratory: Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation and Microbiology. Also performs high complexity testing under the supervision of the department supervisor or a Medical Technologist. May perform QC and QA as assigned by the supervisor after competency is demonstrated. Duties also include certain clerical tasks and related laboratory services.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • A minimum of a two-year diploma or equivalent in any biological science or chemical science from an accredited/approved educational institution and successful completion of the Medical Laboratory Technology training program which includes Blood Banking (Immunohematology), Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology; OR A minimum of a two-year diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology which includes Blood Banking (Immunohematology), Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.

  • Certification as an MLT by the ASCP or AMT within 6 months of hire.
