Part-Time P.E. Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year

Location: Glendale

Job Type: Part-time

Salary Range: $22,500-26,000/yr.

How You Will Make a Difference at Sun Valley Academy

As the PE Teacher, you will be responsible for advancing the scholars' physical ability and knowledge of sports. You are responsible for the welfare of the scholars and for ensuring that the scholars can gain the qualifications they need to advance their education or their desired career paths after school. Their key duties and responsibilities include:

• Supervising practical PE lessons, including both indoor and outdoor classes.
• Ensuring that children compete to their ability level and aren't exposed to unnecessary injury or illness through school sports.
• Motivating school children to take up new sports or athletic pursuits.
• Evaluating the performance of students throughout the school year.
• Providing parents with comprehensive reports on their child's progress.
• Training and coaching school sports teams to compete and succeed in nation-wide events.
• Transporting individual competitors, school teams and other teachers to and from school sporting events.
• Ensuring that students pass their practical and theoretical PE exams.
• Create and implement lesson plans, assign tasks, and evaluate student work and progress according to school's guidelines.
• Supervise students safety and promote a safe, effective, and ethical learning environment.
• Use professional discretion and judgment in managing students in a classroom setting.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Maintain professional demeanor and ethics at all times.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or related field.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• CPR and First Aid Certified.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• PE Teaching for 1 year or more.
