Job summary

CSG Talent in Baltimore is seeking a construction estimator to lead the planning through bid stages, read blueprints, perform quantity takeoffs, and develop accurate estimates for complex vertical projects.

You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, manage vendor quotes, support change orders, and participate in value engineering while building strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of curtainwall, storefront, and/or project management experience for complex vertical construction estimating.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze construction blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from plans or conceptual information.
• Review and estimate the scope of work from project documents.
• Utilize in-house historical cost data and apply costs and rates as provided.
• Request, organize and negotiate vendor quotations to meet contract documents.
• Develop subcontractor/vendor and client relationships.
• Evaluate changes in scope per updated bid documents.
• Assist PM in providing change order estimates.
• Collaborate with team members and participate in value engineering reviews.
• Participate in negotiating construction cost estimates with other parties.

Job description

This position will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, project managers, contractors, and others as required to establish accurate estimates from the planning stage through the project bid-out stage and is required to have the following skills:

• Understand and able to read and analyze construction blue prints (plans, specification).
• Performing accurate quantity take offs using plans and specifications, or conceptual information.
• Review, interpret and accurately estimate the scope of assigned work as described in the project documents.
• Utilizing and managing in-house historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy. Apply costs and rates, as provided by Director of Estimating.
• Request, organize and negotiate vendors quotations to ensure the quotes meet contract documents
• Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships.
• Evaluate changes in scope per updates bid documents.
• Assist PM in providing change order estimates.
• Work and collaborate with Team Members
• Participate in Value engineering reviews.
• Participate in negotiating construction cost estimates with other parties.

Requirements:

• Minimum five years minimum of curtainwall, storefront, window wall estimating, and/or project management experience for complex vertical construction projects.
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering or Construction Management or related experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
