Job summary

The American Academy of Ophthalmology is seeking a glaucoma specialist to join our busy multi-location practice in the Charlotte, NC area. Ideal candidate will perform cataract surgery with premium lenses and collaborate with a large team of ophthalmologists and optometrists. Ownership opportunities exist in our ambulatory surgical center.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologist with glaucoma subspecialty.
• Proficient in cataract surgery and premium lens implants.
• Experience with EMR and modern ophthalmic equipment is a plus.

Job description

Our busy practice has an opening for a Glaucoma specialist to Join our 14 doctor (6 ophthalmologists/ 8 optometrists) practice with 6 locations in the greater Charlotte North Carolina/ Rock Hill South Carolina area. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in cataract surgery and premium lenses. We have all the latest equipment including; Argos and IOL masters, Itrace, Cassini, newest OCTs, Pentacam, digital cameras (anterior and posterior segment), Argon/Yag/SLT/diode lasers, ERG, Ellex Vitreous laser, tearlab, ilux, optical shops, in office LASIK suite, etc. Recently added Valeda light treatment at 2 or our locations. We perform surgery at our own Ambulatory Surgical Center with Ally femtolaser laser and Alcon Unity phaco machine. Have ORA for ICLs, RLE and other eye surgeries. We are one of the first practices in the country to offer the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) platform and our optometrist perform all the adjustments. The New doctor will have the opportunity to be a full partner in the practice, be an owner in our Ambulatory Surgery Center as well as own some of the real-estate. Don't just be another cog in the wheel at other large practices. We are owned NOT Private Equity.

Great work hours and superior ancillary staff. Our optometrists perform most primary and weekend call so you don't have to. We have an integrated EMR system in every lane with well trained techs and scribes.
