Haley Ward is seeking a Civil Engineering Manager in Glastonbury, CT to lead municipal infrastructure projects and manage client relationships within budgets and schedules. The role emphasizes site planning, permitting, and infrastructure design, with QA/QC constraints.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Civil Engineering, a PE license, 15+ years of project management experience in CT, strong leadership and communication skills, and AutoCAD/Civil 3D proficiency.

Qualifications

• BS in an Engineering field; Civil Engineering preferred. PE license required.
• Minimum of 15 years of related industry and project management experience.
• Experience serving municipal civil/water/wastewater clients in Connecticut.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage municipal infrastructure projects and client relationships in the Glastonbury area.
• Develop plans and specifications that are professional, economical and effective.
• Supervise and review work of engineers, technicians, and designers.
• Manage projects, oversee tasks, and engage in project design.
• Prepare agreements including scope, schedule, and fees; monitor finances.

What you can expect to be doing:

Haley Ward is looking for a Civil Engineering Manager for our Glastonbury, CT office. The Civil Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, designing, and controlling the activities of projects to best accomplish the successful completion while operating within established schedules, budgets, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) policy constraints. Typical projects will entail Municipal Infrastructure Civil Engineering with an emphasis on site planning, permitting, and municipal infrastructure design.

• Leading and managing municipal infrastructure projects and client relationships in the Glastonbury area.
• Development of professional, economical, and effective sets of plans and specifications.
• Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of engineers, technicians, and designers.
• Managing projects, overseeing, and delegating tasks, and engaging in design of projects.
• Preparing agreements including scope, schedule, work plan, fees and monitors financial performance of projects.
• Participating in career path planning and development, performance plans, mentoring, and resource sharing for supervised team members.
• Cultivating personal business relationships and seeking opportunities for cross-selling to enhance and expand existing client relationships during and after projects.

What you will need to succeed:

• BS in an Engineering field, Civil Engineering preferred. Advanced degree in the area of work specialization is desirable.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer
• Minimum of 15 years of related industry & project management experience
• Strong leadership skills and an effective manager of people with the ability to inspire, lead, communicate, support, and mentor.
• Documented experience in serving municipal / civil / water / wastewater clients in Connecticut
• Sound mathematical skills
• Working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver's license & reliable transportation

The estimated range for this role is: $142,802 to $174,150 salary. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, credentials, skills, and demonstrated proficiency for the role. Compensation is reviewed at least annually each year. Compensation is also adjusted throughout the year to recognize position advancement, responsibilities and licensure and/or certification.
