Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a Machine Operator I to join our production team. The role focuses on operating equipment such as cutting, grinding/polishing, CNC, or tempering furnaces to prepare glass for the next department or end users. Attention to detail, reliability, and problem-solving are valued.

Starting pay is $24 per hour. Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, be able to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for long periods, and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• 1-2 years of operating experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
• Work performed inside a production environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.

Responsibilities

• On/off-load the product from tables, racks, trucks or crates.
• Enter data into the machine computer software per work orders.
• Follow production requirements and quality control plan.
• Visually inspect each piece of glass for imperfections.
• Perform tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Attach labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read basic measurements with a tape measure to verify dimensions.
