Job summary

Carlex Glass America, LLC in Nashville, TN is seeking an Engineer to design and optimize glass fabrication processes. You will lead engineering activities in your assigned area, coordinating tooling, and ensuring seamless production runs.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in engineering, Six Sigma knowledge, 3+ years in manufacturing, and proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks). You will improve process capability, reduce scrap, and train operators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical) or equivalent.
• Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engineering of assigned area of glass fabrication
• Manage process related tooling before each production run
• Troubleshoot line operations
• Issue and revise drawings/process sheets due to continuous process improvements
• Develop and implement continuous improvement in capability and/or scrap reduction
• Verify conformance of components to customer specifications
• Analyze weekly production results; identify deficiencies and implement improvements
• Collaborate with operators to reduce defects and increase throughput
• Train operators to safely and effectively operate plant equipment
