Job summary

SCHOTT North America in Duryea, PA, is seeking a dedicated manufacturing professional to operate and maintain glass finishing machinery. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of related experience.

You will read safety rules and drawings, perform precise measurements, and use gauges and computing tools while supporting multiple machines. The position is covered by a union collective bargaining agreement and offers a starting rate of $28.22 per hour with progression through

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read and interpret safety rules, customer drawings, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and related documentation.
• Strong mathematical skills for measurements, percentages, area, volume, and basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Proficiency using business systems, Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, operate, adjust, and tear down finishing machinery used to cut, edge, saw, drill, and grind glass products.
• Perform glass identification, material handling, and proper handling of finished products throughout the production process.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet defined specifications and customer requirements.
• Complete required paperwork, work orders, logs, and computer-based recordkeeping accurately and efficiently.
• Perform manual finishing work using hand tools, measuring devices, and production equipment while supporting multiple machine operations as needed.
• Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance activities and support 5S, safety, hazardous waste handling, and housekeeping requirements within the work area.
