Job summary

SCHOTT AG in the United States is seeking a Process Operator to support finishing machinery for cutting, edging, sawing, drilling, and grinding glass products. The role emphasizes accuracy in paperwork, safety, and equipment handling.

You will conduct quality checks, document results, and assist in maintaining 5S and hazardous waste procedures while supporting multiple machines and tools in a structured factory setting.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical skills with the ability to calculate measurements, percentages, area, volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, customer drawings, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and related documentation.
• Proficiency using business systems, Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, operate, adjust, and tear down finishing machinery used to cut, edge, saw, drill, and grind glass products.
• Perform glass identification, material handling, and proper handling of finished products throughout the production process.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet defined specifications and customer requirements.
• Complete required paperwork, work orders, logs, and computer-based recordkeeping accurately and efficiently.
• Perform manual finishing work using hand tools, measuring devices, and production equipment while supporting multiple machine operations as needed.
• Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance activities and support 5S, safety, hazardous waste handling, and housekeeping requirements within the work area.
