Job summary

Carlex is seeking a Glass Fabrication Technician in Auburn, IN for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will load/unload parts, assemble components on glass, operate machines, and perform quality checks while following procedures and safety rules.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and basic data entry for quality systems, with 12-hour shifts and potential overtime. Strong attention to PPE, lockouts, and workplace safety is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload parts and assemble components on glass.
  • Operate machines safely and complete changeovers to minimize downtime.
  • Follow work instructions and control plans precisely.
  • Conduct quality checks and enter results into the Quality system.
  • Input GMIPs data when required.
  • Apply 5S to maintain a neat, efficient work area.

If you enjoy hands-on work, following clear processes, and seeing quality results, you’ll feel right at home here.Why You’ll Like It HereOpportunities for growthClean/safe work environmentWeekly payYour ImpactExecute general production tasks: loading/unloading parts, assembling components on glass, and other duties as assigned.Operate machines safely and efficiently; complete changeovers to minimize downtime.Follow work instructions and control plans to the letter.Conduct quality checks and enter results into the Quality system to keep the process nominal; input GMaPS data when required.Use 5S to maintain a neat, efficient work area.Handle all types of glass safely and understand the required PPE, plus the location and purpose of all lockouts and E-stops.Support team goals and take on departmental tasks as directed by supervision.What You BringHands-on problem solving and analytical thinking.Reliability—excellent attendance and a positive attitude.Alignment with Carlex Values: Safety, Customer Focused, Teamwork, Excellence, Trust.Basic computer knowledge for data entry and system use.Preferred BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience: Minimum of 1 year in manufacturing preferred.Physical & Environmental RequirementsLift 45–50 lbs on a regular basis; walk 5–10 feet while carrying a 45–50 lb windshield.Raise and move objects vertically and horizontally as needed.Perform repetitive wrist/hand/finger motions and repetitive twisting/bending of the upper and lower body.Stand on concrete for extended time periods.Work in extreme heat and humidity.Schedule & Work Expectations12-hour shifts on a 3-2-2-3 rotation.Regular and predictable attendance required.Overtime may be required based on workload or projects, including weekends and holidays.Ability to learn and follow procedures while working safely in a manufacturing environment.Strong teamwork and cooperation to achieve production goals.If you’re ready to make a measurable difference on the line and grow your skills, Carlex is ready for you.
