Job summary

PCI Indianapolis is seeking an experienced Glass and Glazing Senior Estimator for the Carmel-based branch. You will budget, bid, and secure glazing work including storefronts, windows, and curtain walls, coordinating with vendors and the operations team.

The role requires 7–10 years estimating glazing projects, strong reading of specs/drawings, and excellent client relations. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $130,000 with a non-guaranteed bonus program and on-site location in Carmel, IN.

Qualifications

• At least 7-10 years of estimating glazing construction projects.
• Experience with estimating/project management/managing specialty scopes of construction: Storefronts, Windows, Curtain Walls and other interior glazing scopes.
• Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
• Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
• Ability to read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.

Job description

• PCI is seeking an experienced Glass and Glazing, Senior Estimator for our PCI Indianapolis 551 branch operations based in Carmel, IN. This individual will Budget/Bid/Secure work in the Glazing Market in both interior and exterior fenestration systems and is responsible for the following duties:

  • Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
  • Establish labor productivities for estimate.
  • Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group.
  • Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
  • Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team.
  • Participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Contract administration for secured projects.
  • Utilize wage and benefit schedules.
  • Hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s).
  • Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration.
  • Perform complete and accurate job hand-offs to the Operations team.

  Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

• Basic Requirements

  • At least 7-10 years of estimating glazing construction projects.
  • Experience with estimating/project management/managing specialty scopes of construction: Including but not limited to Storefronts, Windows, Curtain Walls and other miscellaneous interior glazing scopes
  • Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
  • Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  • Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as Logikal , Partner Pack and Glaziers Studio.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, BlueBeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift.

• Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Preference to being local to Indianapolis nearby region, but for the right candidate, it’s acceptable to be outside this area.
