WE LOVE OUR WORK.
  • Ensure the timely completion of the monthly close, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Review recurring journal entries and supporting work papers prepared by staff accountants for all corporate entities.
  • Verify all journal entries are posted and perform final reviews of each entity’s trial balance for accuracy before finalization.
  • Ensure documentation, including sign-offs, is completed for all key controls, and coordinate requests with auditors.
  • Assist Shared Services leadership with special projects.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end accounting closings.
  • Review and approve pay applications, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Review reports summarizing and forecasting activity and financial positions, ensuring their accuracy.
  • Provide management with timely updates on project status and progress.
  • Work with leadership to implement operational adjustments due to tax code requirements such as sales & use taxes.
  • Arrange audits of property and corporate accounts.
  • Review A/P invoices for proper ledger coding.

This position has supervisory responsibilities, including staff development, rewards and recognition, performance evaluation, staffing, scheduling, and employee discipline.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, with 10+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in accounting principles and research.
  • Willing to travel to property locations as needed.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work overtime.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, interpret, and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to understand and carry out instructions, solve problems with multiple variables.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with probability, statistics, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to stand, handle objects, reach, talk, and hear. Vision requirements include close, color, and peripheral vision. Must lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physical tasks like bending and stooping.
