Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a GK Developer to design, develop, and support the GK POS / Store Commerce platform across the retail network. You will work with business stakeholders, store operations, and engineering to implement reliable point-of-sale solutions for retail, ecommerce, and store operations.

The role requires 5+ years in Retail POS systems, strong GK POS expertise, and hands-on Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices. Node.js experience and cloud familiarity are also expected.

Qualifications

• Strong GK POS/Store Commerce/Other POS technical and functional expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain GK POS / GK Retail Store Commerce solutions including transaction processing, payments, returns, promotions, and receipts.
• Lead production support, incident management, RCA, and release/defect triage.
• Develop integrations between GK POS and ERP, OMS, payment gateway, and eCommerce platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to document requirements for system enhancements and integrations.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues through log analysis and diagnostics.
• Coordinate with vendors, architects, and engineering teams, manage escalations during critical incidents.
• Drive operational excellence, SLA adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Summary

The organization is seeking a GK Developer who will be responsible for the design, development, and support of our GK POS (Store Commerce) platform across our retail store network. As a part of the technology team, this role involves working closely with business stakeholders, store operations, and software team members in designing, implementing, and supporting point-of-sale solutions that support our retail, ecommerce, and store operations.

Responsibilities

• This individual will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting our GK POS / GK Retail Store Commerce platform, ensuring reliable point-of-sale operations, integrations, and production support across our retail store network
• This is a full-time, hands-on technical role requiring strong knowledge of retail POS systems, store operations, and production support processes
• Design, develop, and maintain GK POS / GK Retail Store Commerce solutions supporting transaction processing, payments, returns, promotions, and receipts
• Lead production support efforts, including incident management, major incident handling, root cause analysis (RCA), and problem management
• Develop and maintain integrations between GK POS and ERP, OMS, payment gateway, and eCommerce platforms
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, store operations, and engineering teams to identify and document requirements for system enhancements and integrations
• Troubleshoot complex production issues through log analysis and system diagnostics
• Coordinate with vendors, architects, and engineering teams, and manage escalations with clear communication during critical incidents

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in Retail/QSR POS systems and store operations is required.
• Strong GK POS/ Other POS technical and functional expertise, with hands-on experience in GK POS / GK Retail Store Commerce/ Other POS, is required.
• Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and SQL.
• Experience with Node.js is required to support and maintain our existing custom Node.js applications
• Deep understanding of POS architecture, transaction processing, payments, returns, promotions, receipts, and recovery workflows.
• Experience with POS integrations including ERP, OMS, payment gateway, and eCommerce platforms.
• Strong production support background, including incident management, major incident handling, root cause analysis (RCA), problem management, and release/defect triage.
• Experience with Vue.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript for frontend development is a plus.
• Knowledge of omnichannel retail operations is a plus.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform cloud environments is a plus.
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, or CloudWatch is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and functional architecture is a plus.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized application support is a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
