Position Overview

Greenville ISD is seeking a qualified and student-centeredSpeech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with communication disorders that impact educational performance. This position provides assessment, intervention, and consultation services to help students develop effective communication skills necessary for academic and social success.

Primary Purpose

Assess and provide therapeutic intervention for students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders in accordance withTexas Education Agency (TEA),Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and district requirements.

Qualifications
Education / Certification:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas license as aSpeech Language Pathologist issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills:
  • Knowledge of speech and language disorders and therapy techniques
  • Knowledge of special education laws and evaluation procedures
  • Ability to conduct evaluations and develop therapy plans
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Experience:
  • Experience working in a school setting preferred
  • Experience providing therapy services to children preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Assessment & Evaluation
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations for students referred for services
  • Interpret assessment results and prepare evaluation reports
  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and provide recommendations for services
Therapy & Student Support
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and goals
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services
  • Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Support students with communication needs in educational settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff
  • Provide consultation regarding classroom strategies and accommodations
  • Support implementation of student IEPs and communication goals
Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with TEA, IDEA, and district requirements
  • Ensure timelines and service requirements are met
Professional Responsibilities
  • Participate in professional development and required trainings
  • Support campus and district initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May supervise Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as assigned
Working Conditions

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of instructional materials and technology
  • Work in classroom, therapy, and campus environments across multiple campuses
