Job summary

GPI seeks a motivated GIS Technician to support transportation and infrastructure projects through spatial data management, analysis, and mapping. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of experience and join a collaborative team in our Bridgewater, NJ office.

Salary is competitive and ranges from $58,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience; negotiable for the right candidate. GPI is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm providing planning, design, and construction services for

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of professional GIS experience.
2+ years of data management experience.
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro and SQL (Microsoft SQL Server).
Familiarity with Python for GIS workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collect, process, and maintain spatial data from various sources with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Perform geospatial analysis and geoprocessing to meet project goals.
Develop, update, and maintain geospatial databases and metadata in compliance with established standards.
Produce clear, detailed maps and visualizations for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Maintain and update relational databases; integrate GIS data effectively.
Query and analyze large datasets to identify trends and inform decision-making.
Estimate time and level of effort for assigned tasks.
Coordinate with project managers to deliver GIS-related support.
Document procedures, workflows, and standards for consistency and clarity.
